The Backyard Kids: Baseball Edition

The Somerville Bulldogs were officially the worst team in the league! Just when they thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse, their not-so-friendly coach—Evil Coach Rod—banned all technology. That’s right… no phones, no tablets, no nothing!

To fight back (and stay connected), the kids came up with a clever plan: a TOP-secret team journal that they secretly passed around. Inside, they shared their stories, jokes, and secret strategies—anything to survive life under Coach Rod’s no-tech rule.

But could ditching technology actually bring the Bulldogs together? Did they finally win a game? And what hilarious, heartwarming secrets fill the pages of their top-secret journal? Go on—find out inside The Backyard Kids: Baseball Edition!

Whether your 8 or 38 you will not be able to put this book down. If you were ever on a team and/ or your kids are now , this book puts into words the unbreakable bond formed in sports. The shenanigans, the wins, losses and everything in between. It’s spot on and awesome for some laughs and some sweet nostalgia for the grown ups! 10/10

My 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son absolutely loved it! I could hear them laughing from their rooms while reading it! I also read it and I give it 5 stars! My 11 year old doesn’t like to read books and she couldn’t put this book down and finished it in 1 sitting. Any sports loving boy or girl will love this book from beginning to end!

First of all hats off to the author, this book shows passion, hardwork, artistic illustrations, use of various fonts, and above all an amazing story line. I was laughing with the sense of honest humor, or being emotional of feelings of a losing team. The book will take you into a baseball season championship. Every player is a star, with their likes, and dislikes, and a strict passionate coach on a mission. A must read not only for kids, but also for an adults. As once they were kids, themselves and it's always nice to remember the best times of your lives. A true magnum opus, and I am awaiting for the next book.
